Ellissa in the rain... Such a sad little vee... Makes you kinda wonder what went wrong, or why she's so sad... doesn't it...?
This picture originally was in my sketch book from about a year back or so, but I just never got to it. Not that I didn't want to do it--heavens, no! Just that I was working on other beauties at the time and never found the time and patience for it. I didn't believe I had the skills to do it at the time, nor would I be able to colour it. Well, now here it is--before you and in colour nonetheless!
I had difficulties with her expression, since I was in a giddy mood to get it done today. I think I redrew her eyes at least four different times until I got it to where I liked it--as is, and in pen. The jacket was probably my favorite part--as you can see, I went nutso-crazy on detail and I think I overdid it a bit... It was just too irresistible... So now--we have a really detailed jacket, and a pair of really wrinkly pants. How wonderful...!
Haven't posted anything in quite the while, so I thought I'd go back to my fruitful days of last year to dig up something and draw it up. I had fun drawing lots of fur and hair--something that's always been my cup of tea. And eyes! My gosh, I love drawing eyes... I could draw them for hours... It just took me quite the while to get these eyes down pat--they're of an older style, and when you mix older with newer, you get... yeah... a big fat ol' mess... X3
Comments are most certainly welcome! I'd like to credit the source of this picture, so lemme direct you to Star-Stock's page. This was from the "Who'd Follow Me in he Rain?" image, and it was of great help. DEFINITELY gave me some good pointers, and helped me determine a better pose than the one I had picked out. So sorry it was drawn so closely...!
X3
Sorry for pressuring you--just meant it as a side remark! ...But thanks a whole ton for the comments! =3
The pencils I used were none other than the standard, cheap RoseArt pencils that come in those big 72 Pencil boxes. I might invest in some better ones someday...>W>; I also used a standard box of cheap, Crayola crayons--the ones that come in the 24 crayon boxes. Basic Extra Fine Sharpie pen, and generic printer paper. =3
Yeah--I had a lot of fun with the folds of the fabric. The pants look a lil' iffy, but I'll keep drawing 'em... >w>;;
Yup--she's crying alright... TwT Drew the sketch in the middle of an English class with a droning professor talking on and on in his philosophic manner... She's actually a species of Pokemon, called an Eevee, which resemble tiny foxes containing an unstable gene causing them to mutate (or "evolve," as the video games have it) into a creature based on their surroundings (ie, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon, Leafeon...). At any rate! Glad you liked it! =3 Thanks for the fav, and be seeing you around on Deviant Art sometime! ^^ Thank you!

Aww Elli! I love her ears, the angle of an ear like that can give a lo away about the emotion the character is feeling at the time. The downward droops expresses the sadness she feels as well as the tears in her eyes. She looks like she's left something behind as she is looking over her shoulder, but it seems to be something she did not want to leave as she looks so sad about walking away- or maybe she has been kicked out of somewhere. The rain emphasises the mood of the image. Then ther words give away that something si inded hurting her, but the picture tells you that anyway which is very difficult to do. The text again emphasises the pain and sorrow expressed through the picture. You've improved too. Elli is such a sweet little 'vee it pains me to see her upset like this! I could analyse a lot more stuff in this too like how she's pulling the jacket across her as if to protect herself/ hide herself, but I've rambled for too long already. 8D Nice work matt, Loves <3
^^ Thanks for the comment! ...Yeah, me feels reaaaaally bads for nots beings onlines... TWT Truth is, I -have- been online, but only to check messages and reply to comments. I'll try to comment a bit more, now that I'm drawing a bit more. ...BUT I DOES NEEDS IDEAS!! Any--and I mean any--ideas are STRONGLY encouraged. My poor sketchy notebook's lookin' a lil' empty with how full of pages it is... TwT It doesn't even have any wrinkles of love yet... Please help support teh wrinkly noteb00k! OWO <----- (going through caffeine withdrawls)

...Oh, and here's a few more pictures from last year that I drew that correspond with the old idea I used to have. I used to post single sentences or ideas next to my pictures (like this one). Check out these two!
Aww thanks hun! Long meaningful comments for the world!! He I suck at clothes too. What may help is drawing contour lines, making the thigh more circular etc. really thtink about where there would be creases and don;'t over do the creases like I used to. Centi has a real useful tut on folds in fabric. [link] just ignore the insantiy that comes with it! x) you CAN draw creases!!!! Looking at real life examples also helps HUGELY. I remember Centi saying she was having a particularly good time observing the differences in creases on the backsides of different genders xD just THINK about the creases, I always have to thing really hard about exactly where they would go. I hope this helps, now I'm scuttling off to look at the other pics you linked me 8D <3
I see what you mean. I love the sad one. <3 and the other one actually.
I will have new greyscale stuff up soon, five pics drawn but just need scanning. They're realistic, of the japanese band the GazettE. Your wise words on greyscale would be greatly appreciated when they're posted.
I look forward to seeing more of your stuff, and seeing how much ass you kick on the awesome folds in fabric front. Good luck!! <3 *glomptackle*

What pencils did you use?
Very good drawing overall, I like how you showed the folds/stretching in the fabric of the clothing and the umbrella.
